Firing up the kiln again after a 16-year hiatus.

When I begun this blog, it was out of obligation to a university module on the topic of professional communication, in 2009. I was reminded that this blog existed by a fellow university school mate that I bumped into. This reignited my passion for "communicating".

16 years since my last blog post, what has changed or hasn't?

1. I have ventured down a different career path from Patent Law that I once considered, to brand management and marketing in the food sector. My first love for gastronomy still remains, and I am thankful to feast my way through my career and own a lovely kitchen to explore recipes.

2. I am no longer single but a family of five, with three kids in tow. I continue to be community-oriented. I may not be serving the larger community in Church or the less privileged, but I view my family and friends as the immediate community I should be serving at this stage.

3. I am no longer physically active. A debilitating ankle issue has prevented me from conquering mountains I promised myself I would mount since 2013. It's a quiet mourning for me, but I take comfort I can still hike for short distances and still very mobile.

4. My frequency of personal social media posting has declined, even as the social media landscape boomed. I find many posts vain and meaningless. In addition, the threats of identity thefts and frauds my children may face keep me from sharing their photos publicly.

5. I desire to blog, and use this as a means to reflect, share what I have learnt and engage in constructive discourse. I believe sharing in anyway, including simple life stories, is caring. Also, I hope this form of journaling helps me to connect the dots on what God is doing in our lives.

As I fire up this kiln again, I think it needs a fresh coat of paint - a new name... I will sleep on this.

Signing off with love, a college student re-visiting blogspot 16 years later.
